Experience the pure joy of photographing Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds in the warm summer weather of Muskoka, Ontario, with Teddy’s unique workshop. I invite you to photograph these amazing birds at my home in cottage country, watch them up close in an ethical back yard birding scenario. We will be hidden in a comfortable blind while the birds feed and perch to rest close by. This is a practice that many photographers happily engage in at home, however Teddy’s workshop will explore this practice from an artistic perspective.
Working with lighting techniques and camera settings not often used we will make creative images that convey a knowledge of aesthetic principles. Last year a close friend of mine participated in this workshop and had his image published with Canadian Geographic!
This work shop includes 4 hours of shooting time, leading up to and after sunset. The work shop dates will be booked first come first serve and the experiences will have no more than 3 people present including Teddy to keep the interactions with the wildlife intimate. Teddy will work with you to find several approaches for shooting this beautiful bird in a back yard setting, expanding what you thought was creatively possible with your wildlife photography. Refreshments and snacks will be provided as well as seating. The workshop attendee will require a tripod.
